a teacher was raped and stabbed to death today..... and her students were sent out to look for her and found her dead by the road side...

I just heard about this incident just a while ago, now let's be careful and not jump to conclusions, all I heard is that she did not died from natural causes. she was probably a victim of homicide, but that needs to be verified by a docter's examination. as for rape, well, she was found naked..so circumstances would point to that conclusion but still, there needs to be conclusive evidences by a docter's examination. the scary part is this, could have been one of the student who was the victim. I drive by the school at times and I see students walking on the road and the incident happened not very far from the school. I would suggest that everyone hold on to your conclusions until the truth comes out and do not gossip about it further as our nature in terms of gossips tends to blow it out of proportion.

One thing for certain is that the victim is not a FSM citizen, therefore the matter MIGHT be handled by the U.S. Hopefully it turns out to be so, send the body off for autopsy and bring in investigators to do the investigations. This is one is going to effect the whole state what so ever. Reputation wise.

wow.thats very sad.i say the authorities need to find the perpetrator before the americans handle the situation.if im not mistaken this kind of incident is going to the death penalty cus its two serious crimes in a row on one victim.
my utmost condoles to the family of the victim and may the assailant get got and dealt with accordingly.

The women now adayz are becoming more dominant (in a good way) and they're more then likely becomin' much more successful then some (excuse me let me correct myself) most men out there in Yap.... Going all over town drinking the $125.00 they made for the past two weeks.... Its freaking
sad but still pathetic!!! The women have become much more successful to where they juz say why da freak do we need a men for??? Trust me,if it hasnt gotten ter,get ready younger ones' cuz its gonna get ter!!! Men cant have wat they want,they start taking it by force.... Then we start wondering,how did this happen???

i suspect one of the SDA staffs. I attended yap sda back in the days, and i've seen quite a few fratenzing. We could tell, they thought we were stupid.

top us investigators should come in to handle the case, i doubt our local people can find the person(s). actually other cases happened to local like same but unfortunately, cases closed unsuccessfully. my condolences to the family.

Shawn, why can't Yap handle it? Yap holds all accountabilities in this matter therefore she is responsible to persecute and bring justice to this case. In this modern day Micronesia, we made the law to protect our rights and keep peace among all people. It sounded like you wanted the person who committed the crime put on death row but rather have another country do it for you.

As an allumini myself I pray for the family of the victim and for forgiveness for the suspect and pray that he or they step forward and take responsibility for what has been done. SDA teachers sacrifice too much for local students. We have had our own bad stories to tell, but this is extraordinarily ill. I seriously wonder if the family of the victim will pay for morgue and transportation costs as it will be a very heavy burden onto them. It saddens me to know how we treat these volunteers. There is no stronger heart than that of a volunteer to step up and provide help to the under priveleged....yet we chose to end the future of the few students remaining at the school. I hope the school will not shut down.

Ayin from Gagil... this guy maybe the one who did so. one time he was drunk and came to a party that we had in wanyan and was really eyeing gurls... most of our frends who were from Gagil told us that he has a problem with women.. like peeping and known to harass girls.. so i wouldnt be surprised. it could be him cos i heard he ran away from prison.. and he the only rapist we know who live that part of the island....

seems everyone want justice to be carried out, some even calling for the extreme form of justice, an eye for an eye. I have no problem with that. In fact I have a secret wish for the old fashion yapese way of justice to be brought back. when someone commits a crime this terrible, the only punishment fit for the crime is to execute everyone in his/her family, burn down their house, kill all their pets (if they have them), now in modern times I would also include going to the courthouse and hospital to delete all records of their birth, so no record of them will remain and the rest of the people will forget they ever existed. Did i hear somebody say yapese were the nicest people in micronesia?

mahn if the police dont execute the man, then the people on island will.. this thing is way out of hand. trust me, the people will kill the man responsible. not only cos of what he did.. but who he did it to, and the fact that its something that we yapese just dnt do. yeah we are not good looking people, but man, yapese guys always get the girl in the end.. so this pervert is not acting like yapese men. cos yapese men dont force themselves on to women, we work and show that we are worthy of their company...

Kapingaboy, I think Yap cannot handle this incident cuz even if you killed somebody to death in Yap, you still have the chances to go to your house instead of being behind the bars. There is this custom in Yap that brought forth the gap not to be put in jail for life..they call it wenig...which brought the court system useless there in Yap. I've been there many times so I know alot from there.

if you don't mind a personal question, how old are you? how much history of Yap do you know? for your info, my village was almost wiped out for killing a warrior from a higher ranked village. fortunately for my ancestors they managed to escape to another nearby village where they were protected. when they came back after the attack they found all the houses in the village burnt down. That is the kind of thing i was refering to, now we dont have to be proud of it, but we have to know our history, the good as well as the bad so that we can avoid repeating the bad and aim to gain back the good. that is all i had in mind when i made those comments. as far as tainting the reputation of yap, that is the most oxymoron statment considering the topic of this thread.

I don't even know what to say! This incident is beyond our experience!
I just hope whoever commit the crime, gets to be punished! I don't want
